We are looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to coordinate provision of nursing services that reflect the nursing philosophy and standards according to Recovery Center Of Niagara's policies and procedures. The RN position promotes the physical and mental health of clients by applying the nursing processes. The position is a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and has the goal of assisting residents to assume responsibility for their own health. The position coordinates and monitors medical services, including psychiatric and medication services, in accord with the requirements of regulatory agencies and in response to individual resident need.

The RN provide care for the clients and monitoring, recording, and reporting symptoms or changes in patient’s conditions. Also, they are tasked with maintaining accurate patients’ reports and medical histories, administering medication and treatment to patients and observing reactions or side effects.

The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care with little supervision. You will be compassionate and cool-tempered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and assure the provision of director care for the patients consistent with the philosophy and goals of the nursing department.
  • Assist in reviewing staff member’s achievement of documentation standards and provides feedback.
  • Conduct waived testing for urine, blood work and glucose monitoring.
  • Is effective in maintaining and assuring the quality of services provided to all patient and co-workers.
  • Participate in the standard development and implementation for the Division of Nursing.
  • Maintains patient care standards in accordance with the regulations of governmental and standardizing agencies.
  • Adhere to all protocol, policies, and procedure to ensure the safely and accurate dispensing, documentation and storage of narcotics, methadone, and controlled drugs (e.g., volume, suboxone, Librium)
  • Be aware of the legal issues as they relate to the delivery of nursing care. Supervises and monitors the safe and accurate utilization of equipment and patient treatment.
  • Practice consistently within the context of the Patient’s Bill of Rights.
  • Protect the confidentiality of patient and families.
  • Complete mandated educational programs on an annual basis.
  • Attend continuing education programs for professional self-development.
  • Assist the Director of nursing in the orientation of new staff.
  • Identify and investigate unit-based problems and collaborates with the Director of Nursing in their resolution.
  • Assist staff to identify patient problems and effectively utilize other members of the health team to solve.
  • Demonstrate leadership and delegation of tasks and duties in direction and coordination of unit activities.
  • Service as a role model for peers, licensed practical nursed and mental health.
  • Ensure that patients and as well as co-workers, received personalized, prompt attention and are treated with a receptiveness, dignity and respect, no matter how limited the contact.
  • Communicate with the Director of Nursing and other management staff issues related to patient care and safety.
  • Report any changes in patient’s conditions to the appropriate disciplines and documents these significant changes.
  • Comply with Urban Recovery’s dress code.
  • Complete and adjust daily assignments in accordance with staff skills, preparation and patient acuity, and divisional standards.
  • Adjust time management to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor subject to patient and unit needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assist staff in planning of care or discharge and continuing care.
  • Assess changing needs of the patients during the shift and makes adjustments in assignments as appropriate.
  • Implement and assist staff to understand the standards relative to documentation of the patient’s hospitalization.
  • Develop and assist staff in identifying and addressing patient’s problems by formulating goal-oriented plan of care and evaluating care rendered.
  • Implement and assist staff in patient teaching program based on specific patient needs.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a registered nurse
  • Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
  • Currently registered as a professional registered nurse in good standing
  • Two (2) years of experience in nursing.
  • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Responsible and compassionate
  • Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Patient with excellent problem-solving skills
  • BSc or other diploma from a nursing program
  • Valid New York State nursing license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00 - $43.00 per hour
