Rental Car Manager - Immediate Opening

Kodiak Car Rentals, a new car rental business in Kodiak, Alaska is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Rental Manager for a fast-paced environment at our airport location. Qualified candidates will have prior management and leadership experience in a rental car or other fast-paced, similar work environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Meet production demands in a very fast paced environment that requires a quick turn around of vehicles
• Manage damage claims, including working with local repair shops to schedule repairs, as well as customer and insurance company to collect on claims.
• Manage rental fleet to ensure vehicle condition is documented prior to rental.
• Manage incoming rentals to ensure vehicle has not sustained any damage during customers rental.
• Interact in a professional manner with customers
• Hiring and scheduling
• Daily tracking of individual employee production
• Ensuring incentive compensation is paid to all employees achieving the incentive pay production criteria
• Manage the weekly schedule for all employees
• Mentoring/redirecting/coaching employees to be compliant with company policies and procedures
• Completing all required reporting in the allotted time frame
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times

Requirements:

• One (5) year or more of Management experience
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving history
• Willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local laws

This person will act as Manager for all aspects of the rental car process including, but not limited to making reservation, answering phones, managing damage claims, managing the airport kiosk space for incoming travelers, managing employees and monitoring vehicle condition after rental cars are turned in. Assisting in cleaning vehicles as needed. This is a very hands on job and a challenging environment.

Candidate must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week.

Individual MUST be willing and able to clean cars inside and out, some light automotive tasks and shuttling cars to various locations for delivery, maintenance, etc.

Excellent communication skills are required.

Candidate needs strong computer skills, written communication skills, and needs to be very detail-oriented.

Previous management experience is preferred as well as basic automotive knowledge.

Must be a quick learner and handle stress well in a fast paced environment.

Previous rental car experience is preferred.

Position may include bonuses based on work performance. Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation. Must be 21 or older with a clean driving record and no substance abuse issues.
