Job Description
Applications are invited for a Young Scientist position in the field of space weather and ionospheric physics. The qualified candidate should hold a BS/MS in space physics or a related field. This is a position that will start in January 2023.
The successful candidate will conduct research relevant to understanding the near-earth space environment and its impacts on radio frequency systems.
This selected candidate will work in a successful research group at the Institute for Scientific Research at Boston College in Newton, Massachusetts. The successful candidate will support ISR research contracts with the Department of Defense, NSF and other sponsors. US citizenship is strongly preferred.
This is a part-time temporary position.
Requirements
The candidate should have experience in analysis of space weather data from ground-based and space-borne instruments together with scientific programming and visualization experience. Preference will be given to candidates with good knowledge of Matlab, Python, and C/C++. Ability to process sensor data, and develop and troubleshoot scientific code is required.
