We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Research Coordinator to oversee the management and operations of two significant cohort studies, SCOPE-PP, based in Los Angeles and South Africa. As the Research Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of these studies, as well as supporting ongoing and potential future research initiatives. Your responsibilities will include: Study Management: You will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of the two large cohort studies. This includes coordinating with collaborating institutions such as the University of Cape Town and Desmont Tutu Health Foundation, ensuring study implementation adheres to timelines, conducting regular meetings, and facilitating community engagement. Collaborative Coordination: Acting as a liaison with external organizations, you will collaborate with them to identify and implement strategies that drive the successful completion of research studies. This will involve managing IRB submissions, donor reporting submissions, manuscript revisions and reviews, proposal development and reviews, and conducting trainings for graduate students and collaborating staff on study protocols. Regulatory Compliance: You will be responsible for managing regulatory documents related to the research studies, ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines and protocols. Administrative Support: In addition to your research-focused responsibilities, you will provide administrative support to the research group, including assisting the financial manager with contract signing and ensuring accuracy. As the Research Coordinator, your contributions will be instrumental in advancing scientific knowledge and driving impactful research outcomes. Qualifications

Required: * Experience working in or conducting research in health facilities in resource-limited settings * Experience working in infectious diseases research, preferably HIV/AIDS * Strong skills in Microsoft Office, and Excel * Basic skills in analytical software, such as Stata and Nvivo or Dedoose * Experience with mixed methods approaches and randomized trials * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills- incl. proposals and manuscripts * Exceptional organizational skills (will be expected to balance multiple tasks, respond promptly to emails, re-prioritize tasks based on last minute deadlines) * Ability to work independently * Culturally sensitive/competent * Highly effective and diplomatic in collaborating/communicating with multiple partners and co-workers from varying backgrounds/expertise Preferred: * MPH or MSc in public health, epidemiology, or relevant field required, PhD in similar fields preferred. * At least 1-2 years of international experience (preferably Africa) * At least 1-2 years experience supervising large research teams, preferably in a resource-limited settings
