We are looking for:
Researcher/Technicians are responsible for planning and executing activities as defined by the Engineered Materials Scientist or Engineer in various research and development projects in support of compounds development
We count on you for:
- Maintains a safe work environment for self and others
- Execute detailed experimental plans for product development and customer support activities including extrusion/molding operations
- Ensure clarity of planning and communication from Engineered Materials team to Compounding, Molding and Polymer Characterization Laboratory
- Prepare and submit samples for testing; collect and organize data and observations, and communicate to scientists & engineers
- Operate and maintain relevant equipment, instrumentation and experimental techniques, including extruders and auxiliary equipment
- Conduct preventive maintenance on laboratory and fabrication equipment, including specifying and getting quotes on parts, installations and repairs from outside resources
- Support compounding activities during scale-up stage
- Manage Raw Material Inventories
- Manage sample inventory and prepare shipments working with customer service and shipping
- Participates in peer and area coordinator safety audits and attends all required safety meetings & training
- Maintains relevant Certified Compounding Operator status and adhere to relevant work area SOPs and processes
- Performs other tasks and duties as required
- Overtime (over 40 hrs/work week) and/or alternate shift work may be required periodically
You will bring:
- 3+ years relevant experience in polymer compounding, processing, characterization, and/or product development, or Minimum Associate’s Degree or Technical Certificate/Diploma in related field such as engineering or chemistry
- Experience in chemical or plastics industry is preferred
- Experience with plastics development and/or production is preferred
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of polymer extrusion and industrial/mechanical equipment preferred
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple groups and functions
- High attention to detail and ability to observe and adjust processes and experiments as they progress
- Demonstrated problem solving ability and capability to identify improvements to current processes

- Competitive salary and benefits package
- The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $60,000.00 to $68,000.00 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.

Additional information:
- Must be able to regularly lift and move product weighing 55 lbs.
- Capable of being trained to safely operate a forklift
