ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may be assigned. The essential functions include:
- Responsible for the overall supervision, care and protection of clients and staff while on duty
- Supporting client participation in the program in accordance with their needs, interest, and abilities as well as assisting clients in safely managing problems or conflicts in the milieu
- Collaborates with unit supervisors and recreation staff to support planned activities
- Provides oversight and guidance to members of the overnight team in the Campus Support office and cottages
- Triages client crises and dispatches out Campus Support to assist in resolving client crises
- Liaises with local law enforcement and first responders during calls for support
- Initiates, completes, and tracks Missing Persons Reports
- Completes and maintains Facility Manager training and certification
- Maintains physical presence at the campus at all times
- Cover open shifts or PTO for fellow Facility Managers or Campus Support
- Provide supervisory and administrative support for child care staff if unit supervisor is absent from the campus as well as facilitate staffing reassignments when necessary to secure coverage and ratio
- Responding to acting out behaviors of resident clients with trauma-informed interventions including runaways, substance use, and behavioral challenges
- Involvement with crisis intervention and crisis response
- Oversight of routine checks of the campus and cottages
- Utilization of behavioral management techniques (Pro-ACT) to ensure client and staff safety
- Screening all off-campus trips in collaboration with unit supervisors
- Be made aware of and screen visitors to the campus
- Coordinate disaster preparedness procedures in the event of natural disasters, medical emergencies, campus lockdowns, evacuations, and fire
- Provides oversight and approval for line of sight supervision
- Other duties as required
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Communication Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, office personnel, other employees and the general public
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret manuals and office documents
- Ability to speak a language other than English a plus
Mental/Interpersonal Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to define problems, gather, transcribe and post data, analyze, synthesize and classify information, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to work independently and with others – including other employees, clients and members of the public -- in face-to-face and telephonic contexts
Physical Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to talk or hear in order to give and receive information and instructions
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
Equipment and Computer Software Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to navigate email and electronic health record systems, specifically Office 365 and Microsoft applications.
- Willingness to engage and train in learning data tracking systems, virtual platforms to enhance in-house reporting to the program leadership.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Regularly work indoors or outdoors in a variety of environments
- Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent related experience
- Minimum 1 year experience working with children in a child care agency preferred
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff & provide leadership
- Valid California driver’s license, driving record and personal vehicle insurance acceptable to Hillsides’ insurance carrier
OSHA CATEGORY:
This position performs tasks that may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. All Hillsides employees are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis B vaccination series.
SALARY RANGE:
$18.00 - $20.00 /hour
