The Position: We are looking for a Resource Parent Advocate who is willing to embrace McKinley’s mission and H.U.M.A.N values. The role of the resource parent advocate provides support, advocacy, resources and orientation to all Resource Families/Foster Parents, while managing their resource parent file.
Compensation and Benefits:
The pay range we’re offering is $16.50 - $19.00 hourly depending on experience.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree required
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience with Foster Care service; Strong Analytical Ability highly desirable
- Strong Presentation and Communication Skills Required
- Bilingual ability in Spanish strongly preferred
- Word Processing; General Office Skills
- Excellent Reading and Writing Skills
- Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
- Ability to commute daily and continuously to various sites for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to lift 10 pounds for filing
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that necessary DCFS, CCL, and prepared as required for the FFA/Adoptions Program
- Complete the approval process of prospective foster parents - Orientation
- Approve Resource families based upon state and agency regulations and guidelines
- Complete Home Health & Safety Assessments & track written reports/evaluations
- Ensure resource parent files are in compliance
- Assist with phone coverage, screening of calls, and appropriate transferring of calls
- Maintain Extended Reach database in an accurate and complete manner
- Ensure that all documents and files are properly secured at all times
- Maintain accurate and current training schedules
- Conduct trainings for prospective resource parents as needed
- Participate in all meetings as directed
- Communication with Administrator, Program Assistant, Intake Coordinator, & Adoptions
- Ensure the completion of all trainings required of prospective resource parents and current approved resource families
- Participate with children and staff in special events and celebrations as needed
- Respond to emergencies if contacted by resource parent
- Actively participate in the agency’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process as assigned.
- Coordinate Meet & Greets and Anniversary Meetings for resource parents
- Livescan prospective applicants
- Maintain First Aid & CPR Certification
- Maintain program annual training requirements
- Believe that people can change; demonstrate an ability to set limits and intervene appropriately to meet the needs of the children and families served
- Other duties as assigned
