Job Description:

• · Interacts with patients, physicians, peers and staff in a professional, courteous manner
• · Maintains confidentiality in matters concerning patient information
• · Utilizes therapeutic and assessment skills to administer respiratory treatments
• · Responds to pages and requests in a timely manner
• · Delivers care in accordance with physicians order.
• · Adheres to safety departmental, and hospital policies and procedures Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care of service appropriate to the age of the patients served

Performs therapeutic and assessment skill

• · Initiate, maintains and trouble shoots, mechanical ventilators
• · Performs arterial blood gas sampling and analysis
• · Provides instruction to patients and family members regarding care needed after discharge
• · Provides instructions to hospital staff providing respiratory care to patients
• · Ensures optimum quality of care through ongoing education
• · Provides accurate documentation of therapy and procedures given to patients

Relays pertinent date to next shift, attends meetings and in-services as assigned Cleans and maintains equipment orders and stocks supplies and medications

• · Administers any and all respiratory treatments and modalities including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, IPPB, BIPAP, CPAP, IS, pulseoximetry, PFT's, EKG"s

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Certification/Licensure Required for Job: CRT or RCP, NRP and RRT
• Must have current BLS and obtain ACLS
