Hillwood is currently hiring Restaurant Servers for our Food & Beverage teams. Servers play a critical role in the success of our dining operations here at Hillwood, supporting three distinct dining rooms, banquet events, and a seasonal canteen. Full-Time, Part-Time, and On-Call shifts available!

Job Summary:

The Server provides table service to restaurant patrons by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring that patrons have a pleasant dining experience.

Reports To:

• Restaurant Manager, Dining Room Captain(s)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies, and Expectations

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately.
• Ability to operate point-of-sale systems.
• Maintains high level of member contact throughout service; learns members’ names and preferences.
• Demonstrates exceptional wine and spirits knowledge

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Greets customers as they are seated at the table; ensures the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided.
• Distributes menus and presents the daily specials; shares menu knowledge to assist members with questions and special requests.
• Informs kitchen of special instructions, dietary restrictions, etc.
• Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers.
• Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to customers’ satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen.
• Collects plates and clears the table as customers finish their meals.
• Verifies member billing details and closes out tickets in the Point of Sale system.
• Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments.
• Clean tables, complete closing duties and re-stock tableware and other supplies
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Dining Room Captain, Restaurant Manager, or (Assistant) General Manager

Education and Experience:

• Must be at least sixteen years old.
• Must be at least twenty-one years old and Alcoholic Beverage Certification to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Previous experience as a server preferred.
• Must successfully complete restaurant’s training course.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
