Deer Mountain Day Camp is looking for recent college graduates, graduate students and/or teachers who enjoy the outdoors, have an interest in experiential education and like to hike and climb to work at our Newly Renovated Ropes course which includes:

• Ziplines
• Monkey Climb
• Aerial Playgrounds

If you like to indoor/outdoor rock climbing or enjoy Ninja training than this is the job for you. We Provide the Training. You will be trained and certified to harness and belay campers and operate the various elements on our course.

Camp Dates:

• 2023 Camp Dates: Monday, June 26th to Friday, August 18th
• Monday to Friday: 8:00 am to 4:15 pm
• Some pre-season training required
• Daily lunch and snacks provided

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred. Aspiring teachers welcome to apply.
• Prior experience working with children a plus
• Experience with outdoor pursuits – hiking, camping, indoor/outdoor rock climbing, etc..
• Comfortable with heights
• Fun, kind, caring and motivating personality.

If you like to hike, kayak and/or camp then we have other positions on outdoor adventure team that you might be interested in as well: Wilderness/Outdoor Skills Instructor to teach campers hiking, camping skills that and orienteering. Lakefront Staff to teach boating, fishing and oversee our lakefront activities. We will train qualified candidates in Pool/ Waterfront Lifeguarding. A Naturalist to teach gardening, animal care and basic ecology.

Deer Mountain Day Camp is located in Pomona, NY at the base of the Ramapo Mountains. We have a 25 acre campus that features a stream fed lake, 5 pools, 4 tennis courts, zip lines, aerial adventure elements, 3 softball fields, two soccer fields, a football field, full size hockey rink and 25 indoor buildings that serve as camper bunks and home to our arts and stem programs. We are a town away from Woodcliff Lake, Mahwah, Montvale and Suffern and 25 minutes from the George Washington Bridge. We serve campers ranging in age from 3 to 15 who come from Rockland, Bergen, Orange and Westchester Counties and New York City.

Deer Mountain staff members come from all the different areas we serve. Our team is full of fun, creative and kind educators, sports coaches, artists and camp professionals who love the impact that a summer camp can have on adults and children. You will love coming to camp each day.
