In this role as Global Logistics Organization SHE Manager in Shepherdsville, KY you will develop, implement and/or maintain Safety, Health and Environment programs at the (LVDC) site to ensure compliance with AstraZeneca and all applicable government and company standards and values.

As part of the Global Logistics Organization, the SHE Manager works collaboratively with 3rd party suppliers and GLF functions to ensure AZ SHE obligations and AstraZeneca standards are effectively met.

What you'll do:

  • Ensures site compliance to AstraZeneca SHE standards and procedures as well as state and local requirements

  • Ensures that safety, health, and environment training needs are satisfied to support accurate regard for the safety and health of site employees and for the protection of the environment.

  • Ensure all work performed at site is completed in compliance with all site-specific Environmental, Health and Safety Requirements, industry standards, and all applicable government regulations.

  • Coordinate on an as needed basis with Site leadership to maintain an appropriate level of, security, equipment maintenance and safety - in accordance with established SOP's, cGMP's and governmental (FDA, GDP, OSHA, DEA) regulations.

  • Provide a focal point for strategic, long-range planning regarding SHE systems and processes.

  • Conduct appropriate site SHE trainings as required

  • Delivers excellent CAPA (corrective action…) completion performance regarding SHE and Safety incidents.

  • Site lead for local, state, or federal agency inspections (i.e., OSHA, EPA, KYDEP, local fire Marshall, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Scientific/Engineering field (or equivalent)

  • Minimum of 5 years with experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or Research & Development environment

  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders including those external to AZ

  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects.

  • Understanding of AstraZeneca Safety, Health and Environment standards, procedures, and guidelines, as well as

  • Awareness of various country legislation and recognized consensus standards (e.g., International Standards Organization)

  • General knowledge of regulatory requirements, including but not limited to OSHA, FDA, DEA, DOT, EPA, etc.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Ability to advise and participate in local, regional, and global cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in a SHE department or related field

  • Existing strong networks externally to AZ with particular focus on SHE

  • Experience working in Process Safety Management covered facilities
