World’s Fair Park Safety Officer (Security & Life Safety)

Rate: Grade 5 $14.95

Hours:3:00 PM - 11:00 PM or 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Days off Vary.

Job Description: The Public Building Authority is currently recruiting World’s Fair Park Security Patrol Officers. This position will work to ensure the safety of the public at the World’s Fair Park. Under the direction of the Director of Security & Life Safety, Security Officers are responsible for the following duties:

Duties:

• Assist with providing continuous surveillance of assigned facility.
• Provide continual inspection of safety and security on PBA properties.
• Report concerns to immediate supervisor or appropriate PBA staff member(s) on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure that proper security and life safety measures are provided for the public and the building tenants.
• Provide safety and security assistance and information to members of the public and building tenants.
• Patrol World’s Fair Park to ensure no safety or security concerns are present.
• Investigate and report accidents and/or incidents that occur at World’s Fair Park and surrounding areas.
• Other work as assigned by the Director of Security & Life Safety.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must have no felony convictions. Must have no misdemeanor convictions that would compromise the mission of the Public Building Authority.
• Must have a current Tennessee driver’s license.
• This is an entry-level position; training will be provided.

Ability to:

Must be physically able to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods on a regular basis. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials weighing up to 50 Lbs. All candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment physical prior to final job offer.

In accordance with PBA’s Operating Agreement between the County of Knox and the City of Knoxville, Tennessee, the employees of PBA are designated as employees of Knox County for the purpose of participating in all pension, health, and other benefit plans of Knox County. Note:

This is a full-time 40-hour-a-week position. The selected candidate must have schedule flexibility to cover other shifts, when necessary. PBA Security & Life Safety operates 24/7.

This position works in an open office environment where teamwork is emphasized. As such, regular punctual attendance is an essential function to the role.
