Archer Hotel Austin, a Texas-chic boutique hotel in northwest Austin at Domain NORTHSIDE is looking for a motivated team player to join our team as a Sales Manager!
JOB SUMMARY
The Sales Manager loves making new connections and utilizes their abilities to become familiar with and effectively maintain all accounts in their market area while also soliciting new accounts, which impacts hotel revenue.
As a dynamic leader in the Sales department, the Sales Manager guides the team alongside the director, assists with developing and implementing sales strategies to increase the company's profit, and motivates employees to hit sales goals.
In addition, the Sales Manager ensures that sales activities and bookings are focused to yield maximum revenue per available guest room and any meeting or event space where applicable.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- In conjunction with the General Manager (GM) and/or Director of Sales, participate in sales meetings that focus on the number of prospecting and existing calls to be made and the potential business results of these calls.
- Oversee sales-related negotiations, including but not limited to concessions, contracted rate negotiations, deposit schedules, group contract negotiations, and event detailing as needed.
- Maintain a good working relationship with the existing client base and optimize revenue generation by abiding by prime-time selling activities.
- Generate sales opportunities by inviting clients to the hotel for site tours, lunches, and events, as well as travelling to off-site meetings, conventions, trade shows, etc.
- Develop extensive knowledge of the marketplace and the ability to close new business by consistently prospecting, cold calling, making sales appointments, maintenance calls, and saturating existing accounts.
- Maintain and monitor production of all assigned accounts, evaluate trends within the marketplace, and react to negative trends by implementing blitzes and special corporate promotions.
- Understand and utilize the sales tracking program to keep all files current and organized and to complete all tasks and requests within the approved timeline.
- Assist with the completion of the hotel's annual budget.
- Perform any other task or duties as requested by the GM.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- Two (2) year or four (4) year college degree preferred.
- Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
- Must be fluent in English.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
