Steward Medical Group at Hawthorn Medical Associates is looking for an enthusiastic, Scheduling Coordinator

Primary duties include the scheduling of patients into the Imaging Department for diagnostic exams. Requires knowledge of a variety of imaging procedures to be able to assist others in the appropriate booking of a wide range of Imaging exams. Other duties not mentioned are not excluded from this position if the work is similar, related, or is a logical assignment to the position. Performs in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures. Follows the facility’s standards for ethical business conduct. Conducts self as a positive role model and team member. Participates in facility committees, meetings, in-services, and activities.
Qualifications:
1. High School graduate or equivalent
2. Two years of college or secretarial school, medical terminology, and computer skills preferred.

- Requires appropriate time management skills. Ability to process multiple tasks in an ever-changing environment. Ability to work in a stressful environment.
- Must be able to maintain a pleasant demeanor and appropriate body language when functioning in a stressful environment.
- Must be able to function independently.
- Maintains a neat and professional appearance.
- Ability to communicate verbally with patients, staff and Physicians. Must be able to relate to diverse patient/visitor populations effectively.
- Maintains a neat and organized workspace.
- Computer skills appropriate to the tasks assigned. Typing and secretarial skills necessary to perform a variety of duties assigned by the Imaging manager.
- Strives to improve performance through continuing education.
Must be aware of hazards within the department and adhere to safety standards as stated by OSHA. Must possess the knowledge and ability to implement a patient code, report and respond to a fire or other emergency event on the premises. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk; stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. May be exposed to various patient conditions including infectious diseases, blood, and bodily fluids.
