School Based Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for 2023-2024 Academic Year Job at Phoenix Speech Therapy

Phoenix Speech Therapy is seeking a dynamic and dedicated pediatric SLP to join our growing team in Harford County, MD! This role is a full time (5 days/week) W2 position and will be in the school setting or within an Infant and Toddlers program in Harford County.
Phoenix Speech Therapy is a therapist-owned and certified woman-owned private practice that provides customized speech therapy services based in our outpatient clinic in Forest Hill. We promote quick and efficient carry-over and improved clinical outcomes towards client goals, using the foundation of executive function coaching. Responsibilities:
- Provides speech/language therapy to students with approved IEP/IFSP’s in an appropriate setting, i.e., therapy room, classroom, natural environment, etc.
- Serves as a member of an IEP/IFSP team when students receiving services are being discussed.
- Administers, scores and interprets tests for evaluation purposes
- Participates in the development of IEP/IFSP’s
- Consults with parents/caregivers, teachers, and others as appropriate concerning student’s speech/language needs
- Maintains documentation of services provided to students
- Reports to the appropriate Coordinator of Special Education
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA accredited college/university
- Licensure: Current Maryland state license in Speech Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology granted by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (AHSA).
- Experience: One (1) year as a pediatric Licensed Speech Language Pathologist
- Prefer school based experience
Compensation is based on years of experience.
The SLP candidate will be expected to provide competent and compassionate therapy and parent training, while allowing for creativity and flexibility within the sessions. The candidate will be expected to represent Phoenix Speech Therapy and honor the high expectations of providing the best speech therapy services for families in our community. We evaluate and treat children of all ages with various conditions and communication challenges. The candidate should have competencies in working with early intervention, articulation challenges, delayed expressive and receptive language skills and social skills.
