General Summary: Under the direction of the church board, the school principal will be responsible for being the school’s academic leader and establishing a Christian environment in accordance with the school’s mission statement and philosophy. Additionally, the principal will be responsible for supporting the school in its mission to create future leaders and ambassadors of Christ. The principal will be responsible for implementing and managing the policies, regulations, procedures, and curriculum, to ensure all students have a safe learning environment that meets New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS). Lastly, the principal will manage program/staff evaluations, extracurricular activities, personnel management, facilities operations, emergency procedures, and professional development.
Job description
- Assist in the daily running of a Prek3-3rd grade Christian elementary school, including hiring staff/teachers and choosing curriculum
- Recognizes and supports the Christian mission of the school by speaking and acting in a Christian manner. The school principal may not espouse any doctrine inconsistent with the teachings of Christianity.
- Administer school policies, applicable state laws, and the policies and standards of applicable accrediting agencies.
- Actively participates with the advertising, recruitment and expansion of the school including grant writing and fundraising.
- Communicates and works collaboratively in a positive, friendly and professional manner with the clergy, board, parents, and staff.
- Collaboratively plans, operates, supervises and evaluates the school’s educational programs, promoting a pleasant and effective teaching and learning environment.
- Establish an inclusive, caring, and supportive school community.
- Provides for the safety, welfare, and care of students.
- Ensures professional development of faculty and student codes of conduct that reflect Christian values, enforcing established discipline standards when required.
- Manages an effective and efficient records system, maintaining complete, accurate and current personnel and student records, in compliance with school/state guidelines and accepted standards.
- Manages school facilities, including a clean, safe and orderly campus.
- Engage in monthly meetings with the SMCA board, and provide updates on school wide events and present data from school performance
Qualifications
- Experience:Elementary Administrative, 2 years (Preferred)
- Education: Master's Degree (Required)
- License: New Jersey Principal Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility required.
Start Date- ASAP
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
