UHY is assisting a client based in Novi, MI and they are seeking an SEC Reporting Manager to support their organization. Candidates must have public accounting experience and possess their CPA license. This individual must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform SEC reporting research and document the Company’s conclusions in technical whitepapers.
• Lead Preparation of S-11 Document and ensure timely completion of all audits required for lender reporting.
• Review quarterly GAAP disclosure checklist
• Monitor accounting literature for new reporting requirements that may affect the organization and change disclosure requirements.
• Prepare quarterly accounting and regulatory update presentations for the Audit Committee and Disclosure Committee.
• Work closely with investor relations and various financial reporting teams in the preparation and review of external financial communications.
• Work closely with key stakeholders in the development, revision, and maintenance of the Company’s Financial Policies & Procedures to ensure disclosure accuracy.
• Act as a liaison with internal and external auditors on matters involving technical accounting, internal controls, financial policies, and SEC reporting.
• Lead various Corporate Finance & Accounting projects to improve the overall efficiency, timeliness, and accuracy of financial close processes.
• Focus on Corporate Finance & Accounting talent management efforts through attraction, development, and retention of key talent across the department.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting.
• CPA required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting and/or external financial reporting for a public company.
• SEC reporting experience (ideally with IPO experience).
• Previous experience with Workiva.
• Ability to manage and develop others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
• Capable of leading large complex projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
