The Security Role Specialist works under supervision to perform day to day duties related to application security role design including defining and maintenance of user roles and responsibilities for Sonoco systems. Duties of this position include (but are not limited to) those listed below.

This is a progression position and level will be based on candidate experience and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with building a role based identification and implementation plan for the global Identity Governance and Administration tool

• Work closely with the Identity and Access Management team as well as GRC to define role based security concerns and implement security controls.

• Process change request activities as necessary to migrate approved changes through the defined application instances
• Build and support project team security access in the non-production (e.g., Sandbox, Development and Test) environment systems
• Provide security support to project teams during patch integration and upgrade activities
• Assist with development and review of corrective action plans to address root cause(s) and prevent reoccurrences of compliance issues related to access security
• Work with Identity and Access Management team personnel to ensure their understanding of required user administration procedures
• Maintain a strong awareness and understanding of regulatory and industry specific security and compliance requirements to ensure ongoing and future compliance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
• 1-2 years in Information Technology and/or IT Security
• Self-motivation and accountability
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• In-depth knowledge of modern security concepts and how to apply them
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Strong business and technical vision

• Ability to analyze and document application and system security requirements from multiple business disciplines and technologies to develop effective security procedures

• General understanding of SOX audit processes and procedures, including control testing and remediation activities

Familiarity with the following:

• Application security administration and maintenance – primarily Oracle but will eventually include other systems within Sonoco
• Role based (RBAC) security and user management concepts
• Segregation of duty concerns in security implementations or in an ERP environment
• Sonoco’s IT policies and procedures
