SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Topix Skin Health is looking for a Senior Accountant to add to its high-performing and growing Accounting team. This role will play a pivotal part in the monthly reporting close cycle and will have the opportunity to improve processes and create efficiencies. This position will report to the Assistant Controller.

Responsibilities:

· Assist with the overall month-end close and reporting process, playing a key role in the timely close process for revenue, accounts receivable and gross-to-net allowances (including e-commerce revenue and loyalty rewards liability reporting), ensuring compliance with the company’s revenue recognition policies under ASC 606

· Reconcile e-commerce orders through to cash, including reconciliation of credit card receivables and recording of any related fees

· Monitor all intercompany transactions including payables, receivables, revenue, cost of goods sold, and inventory transactions, and investigate any variances and work to ensure intercompany AR/AP variance and markup are properly eliminated

· Develop best practices for application of cash receipts from customers taking multiple and various deductions, including the reconciliation of amounts directed towards balance sheet accounts

· Record monthly entries and perform reconciliations related to Corporate Card program

· Partner with the Billing/Collections team to ensure all sales-related tax activities are properly captured and reported, as well as ensure that inventory items cataloged correctly within Avalara for proper tax treatment

· Oversight and review/reconciliation of monthly sales tax filings through Avalara, as well as overall monitoring to ensure good standing in states

· Communicate with external tax firm and assist with any other tax filings and annual reports as needed

· Provide support and assist with year-end audit requests

· Assist with other monthly financial close items that arise as needed (fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued receiving's, various account analyses, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, with a solid understanding of US GAAP

· 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting highly preferred), including month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations (experience with intercompany entries a plus), with a strong understanding of the order-to-cash cycle

· Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to perform functions such as V-lookup and Pivot Table, as well as write more complex logic formulas

· Experience with any major ERP system (Macola a plus but not required)

· Experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods company is highly preferred

· Critical and analytical thinker with excellent attention to detail

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset and the ability and willingness to take initiative to identify problems and propose solutions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
