Summary:

The Senior Accountant/Financial Planning Analyst will work with the CFO in creating accurate financial reporting records, analyze and report on job and company performance metrics & oversee and supervise the payroll & union reporting functions of the organization, ensuring payroll and benefits are processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Create variance analysis reports and financial models.
  • Assist in real-time financial performance monitoring.
  • Escalate any financial performance monitoring.
  • Tracks key performance (KPIs) and objectives.
  • Assist in compiling monthly financial reports to leadership.
  • Entering financial data and transactions into the ledger
  • Reviewing financial documents for accuracy and reconciling accounts
  • Generating and creating Financial reporting mechanisms to assist departments with company goals
  • Analyzing financial data and providing financial recommendations
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, union reporting, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Works with HR Manager to ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Prepares & Maintains accurate records for reporting to all unions the company works with
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Ensuring financial records comply with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support.
  • Supporting the CFO and other financial professionals in their duties as needed

Experience/Skills

• Advance analytical skills. Effective problem-solving skills to identify and correct financial discrepancies.
• Technical accounting skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
• Written and verbal communication skills to share accounting information when needed
• Ability to work on a team and independently.
• Strong organizational skills
• Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient with payroll software.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to discuss aspects of projects with field leadership
