The Senior Commercial Account Manager maintains and expands relationships with Goodyear’s largest commercial customer(s). The position is responsible for attaining sales plan objectives, while delivering significant earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) for the Commercial PBU (producer business unit). The incumbent represents the entire range of Commercial/OTR (Off-the-Road) products and services to assigned customers. There is also a significant role in working with the customer throughout the sales and operations planning (S&OP) cycle for forecasting and supply chain collaboration. This individual would be expected to provide executive management with regular business updates and possess the skill set needed to facilitate meetings at the highest levels of both companies.

  • Work collaboratively with the Commercial Categories/Best Practices teams and other support and management resources to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations. Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer account. Proactively assess, clarify and validate customer needs on an on-going basis.
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy designed to achieve annual operating plan (AOP) targets (includes monthly, quarterly and annual collectible sales, collectible margin and unit objectives). Included should be a sales and service strategy, a growth strategy and all necessary programs for measurement and follow-up.
  • Proactively lead a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets and critical milestones for a one and three-year period.
  • Responsible for providing accurate internal data such as forecasting, weekly estimates and competitive information. Monitor and analyze business on a continuous basis and implement necessary improvement actions. Ensure policies and standards (both internal and external) are observed.
  • The strategic account requires significant financial reporting. The account manager will be responsible for providing detail sales analysis and profitability reviews to PBU finance and management leaders. Financial acumen, technical skills and presentation skills will be required.
  • With over 120 warehouse locations and hundreds of Commercial sales team members, this strategic customer requires customized training programs that are designed and facilitated by the account manager. This responsibility includes close collaboration with Goodyear learning systems, outside support vendors and the customer’s Human Resource (HR) Management departments.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree or in lieu of degree 10 or more years of experience in Sales, Supply Chain or Category Management
  • 5 or more years of experience in Sales, Supply Chain or Category Management
  • Competitive pricing/program and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong customer relationships
  • Strong negotiation skills with a problem-solving attitude
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Financial acumen
  • Business/industry knowledge

The pay range for this position is $96,823- $179,814/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
