Job Purpose

The Lithium-ion Product Director – Global EAS is responsible for providing the direction of the Specialty Lithium-ion Supply for Aerospace and Defense markets. This position will work with the Global EAS market segments to align Lithium-ion cell needs/requirements and will program manage government funding efforts to support Lithium-ion development and facility needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the Specialty Product Management Team comprised of indirect leadership over Global EAS Product Development as well as the Transportation Product Management team.
  • Train and delegate work to the team as necessary while ensuring timely completion of assignments.
  • Maintain the EAS Lithium-ion roadmap for all including new products, A&D funded development pipeline and product rationalization.
  • Analyze and monitor technological, commercial, and demographic factors via analytics of sales data, price sensitivity, research, and trends in the Aerospace and Defense markets so that market opportunities may be realized, and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.
  • Identify and Project Manage all funding and proposal opportunities for the Domestic Lithium-ion plant.
  • Work closely with VP of Lithium Technology to assist in the development of the Domestic Lithium-ion plant including engineering plan, EPC, site selection and cell development.
  • Provide sales support by developing and implementing sales tools, attending trade shows, meetings, and occasional sales calls.
  • Make presentations to various internal or external audiences including Trade Shows, Sales, Customer Service and Customers as well as assist Sales and Marketing personnel with customer presentations.
  • Work with A&D market segments to establish funding opportunities with US DoD for soldier power, munitions, land, sea, aviation, and space applications.
  • Assist in obtaining US Government funding for US Domestic Lithium-ion facility.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have a 4-year degree in Engineering. Graduate degree/MBA is highly desired.
  • Experience in new product development process required.
  • Operational experience in lithium cell and battery manufacturing required.
  • Experience in working with US Government (ITAR, funding mechanisms, project-based accounting, etc.) required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite of software with demonstratable experience of applications used for data analysis, presentation, and reporting.
  • Possess strong managerial skills and ability to analyze, interpret and forecast changes in customer and market behaviors.
  • Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with customers, field sales and company contacts.
