Our Corporate Planning department reports directly to the CFO and hosts Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis and Corporate Strategy teams, who, working closely together, lead enterprise-level financial forecasting and reporting, strategy development, and supports executive decision making. ROLE SUMMARY

As an FP&A Analyst, you will join the Corporate Planning group based in Reston, VA. You will provide economic, financial, marketing or other analytical support as a part of the FP&A team, reporting to the Manager of Corporate FP&A. Your expertise and deliverables will provide analysis driven business advice, and your contributions will back up our strategic plans with quantitative, financial data while supporting our goal to continuously expand our analytical portfolio.

This position is based in Reston, VA and eligible for hybrid telework.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Management reporting:

• Prepare and coordinate financial budgets, operating plans, forecasts, scenarios, and capital allocation reports.
• Prepare briefing packages for executive management including reports on performance and profitability, overhead, personnel, cash flow, offices, clients.
• Input data into and extract information from various information systems and databases. Act as a “super-user” for Bechtel’s enterprise performance management system, including Hyperion and Power BI.

Trend analysis and insight generation:

• Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identify performance trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop infographics and document insights from company-wide historical and forecast performance data to stimulate meaningful reviews by senior executives at periodic leadership meetings.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis as requested to identify patterns and link outcomes to drivers.

Business partnership and collaboration:

• Interact with Global Business Unit (GBU) FP&A teams, other corporate service organizations, executive leadership, and departments within Corporate Finance, including Tax, Treasury, and Financial Reporting.
• Collaborate and build relationships with team and other stakeholders

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Level 1 – FP&A Analyst:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in a quantitative field of study, statistics, or finance
• Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience, preferably in FP&A but otherwise in finance or consulting role
• Experience in the engineering, construction, banking, or consulting industries is a plus

Level 2 – Senior FP&A Analyst

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in a quantitative field of study, statistics, or finance
• Minimum of 8-9 years of professional experience, preferably in FP&A but otherwise in finance or consulting role
• Or, minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience, preferably in FP&A but otherwise in finance or consulting role, AND a Master of Business Administration degree
• Experience in the engineering, construction, banking, or consulting industries is a plus

SKILLS and ABILITIES

• 
  Must have superior analytical and quantitative skills with ability to collect, organize, analyze, disseminate information and attention to detail and accuracy
• Must be able to solve practical problems and think creatively in using and analyzing data
• Preferred, experience with financial analysis
• Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, and working with large data sets
• Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to explain complex financial concepts in operational terms
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• High aptitude for learning quickly and assimilating information into concise summaries
• Demonstrate curiosity, self-learning, and complex problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working with cross-functional and distributed teams
• Demonstrate honesty and integrity
