Mortenson Taggart Adams LLP, a business litigation firm in Irvine, California, is seeking an attorney with 4-10 years of experience in commercial/civil litigation. We are a busy firm and looking for an experienced candidate that can come in and immediately hit the ground running. We represent a variety of businesses, including Fortune 500 companies, mid-market business, franchise systems, high net worth individuals, and entrepreneurs. Although we run a busy litigation practice, we still pride ourselves on having a friendly, relaxed work environment.

The right candidate for the position should have experience running cases in both state and federal courts. We will only consider candidates with strong research and writing skills, law and motion practice, and written discovery work. Proficiency in taking and defending depositions and trial preparation are also necessary, as is experience managing junior attorneys and legal staff.

Associate will obtain a wide variety experience, while working in a fast-paced environment with a team of trial lawyers, paralegals, and secretaries. The candidate must have an interest in litigation and have excellent oral argument and writing skills. This is an opportunity to gain valuable litigation skills for depositions, hearings, and trial. If you are passionate about trial advocacy, this is a position that will allow you to have those experiences right out of the gate.

Duties/Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Represent clients and handle client cases independently
• Attend and conduct court hearings
• Conduct excellent research and writing of pleadings
• Motion practice
• Must work efficiently, and exercise good legal judgment
• Establish and maintain case work quality and consistency
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Maintain a high-level of communication with staff

Required Experience:

Related professional legal experience in Civil & Business Litigation, strong academic and professional credentials, excellent oral and written communication and creative problem-solving skills, the ability to work collegially with diverse personnel, demonstrated judgment and discretion, and admission to the California Bar.
