POSITION SUMMARY:
This position coordinates the most efficient means of transportation for clients. Schedules and/or dispatches trips to volunteers and agency drivers. Inputs data in the computer. This position is responsible for the volunteer payable which reimburses volunteers for their mileage.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

essential functions. Dispatches and coordinates unassigned trips daily
- Coordinates drivers’ schedules and disperses schedules to agency and volunteer drivers daily
- Sends manifests to Volunteer and agency drivers daily
- Performs functions of specific activities and projects as assigned by Transportation Director reports,
Tracking, DHHS surveys and trip verification monthly
- Prepares quarterly reports for DHHS quarterly
- Provides customer service in resolving transportation needs daily
- Reports accidents, injuries promptly to supervisor as required
- Assists drivers with directions, breakdowns, and emergency situations as needed
- Limited after hours coverage (will receive an on call stipend for coverage: 4pm – 9pm weekdays and anytime on the weekends every 2 weeks)
- Enters completed volunteer log sheets and verifies accuracy weekly
- Completes initial accident report as needed
- Performs general office duties daily
- Maintains positive internal and external customer service daily
- Follows procedures defined by Transportation programs

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
- Complete training of Transportation Coordinator 1 position to gain the knowledge to become
Transportation Coordinator 2.
- Must be able to communicate effectively internally and externally

- Be knowledgeable of both Hancock & Washington County
- Serves as a resource for Agency & Volunteer driver
- Ability to read maps
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasionally must lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for long periods of time. Repetitively use of hands and fingers when entering data while operating a standard computer keyboard; reaches with hands and arms; talks to clients and drivers on telephone; must see & hear. Occasionally must lift and carry up to 25 pounds; occasional bending .

- Work is primarily in office setting
- Noise level is moderate.
- Prolonged sitting
- Occasional bending, lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying up to 25 pounds. Overtime may be required

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR POSITION:
- Must be fully vaccinated
- Mandated reporting within 30 days of hire date
- Pass national and state criminal background check
- Pass review of national sex offender registry
- Pass DHHS child welfare check
- Pass pre-employment drug test
- HIPPA training
- Customer service training
- Transportation Coordinator 1 training
- Home internet
Education/Skill Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Office experience
- Computer literate
- Ability to comprehend rules and procedures
- Excellent verbal communication
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Organizational skills
- Ability to read a map and give clear directions to drivers as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
