OVERVIEW:
The Mechanic III is responsible for general maintenance and repair of facility equipment and systems This position requires practical skill and knowledge in such trades as HVAC, plumbing, general mechanical maintenance procedures, basic refrigeration, and electricity. The Associate will service and preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment such as motors, conveyors, and mechanical components for production equipment and related systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Perform all maintenance activities in a safe, clean and efficient manner.- Maintain compliance with changing OSHA regulations.
- Complete job assignments/projects of limited scope within a timely manner, under minimal supervision
- Will be required at times, with proper notice, to work overtime and may need to work flexible shifts to include nights, weekends and/or holidays.
- Performs duties of general help and job assignments as required.
All Hollander associates play a crucial role in meeting our customer requirements and are expected after initial training to perform with minimal supervision. Associates may be asked to assist with other duties and work in other departments when needed to meet those requirements.
MECHANIC III DUTIES
Read, interpret, and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports, and manuals- Perform the necessary corrective maintenance to ensure the facility and equipment are operating properly.
- Perform all maintenance activities in a safe, clean and efficient manner.
- Replace and repair parts, rebuild equipment and align gears, shafts, pulleys and belts.
- Utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification and maintenance of equipment.
- Proficiently use computerized maintenance management system to locate/identify replacement parts, coordinate multiple and interdisciplinary work requests, and investigate equipment repair history.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with the preventive maintenance plan and record appropriately.
- Oversee the necessary corrective maintenance to ensure the facility and equipment are operating properly.
- Perform inventory control of parts and equipment used from inventory.
- Technical expertise in all types of calibration and troubleshooting.
- Understands how area equipment functions in process applications
- Perform activities to acquire detailed knowledge of equipment components to diagnose causes of electrical mechanical malfunctions or provide corrective maintenance.
- Participate in a maintenance training programs to continuously improve knowledge, skills and abilities.
REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED- Possess basic facilities maintenance skills, building automation systems, electrical, HVAC, utilities, plumbing, hydraulics, building and grounds knowledge.
- Computer and system knowledge to include Window applications and Web-based programs
- Understand Good Manufacturing Practices and Lean methodology.
- Understand Industrial Plant Safety and Environmental requirements
- Experience with multiple maintenance crafts (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping, HVAC); with the ability to apply this knowledge to the complete, timely, technically-correct, cost-effective facility maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Possess Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of Mechanic I and II job requirements
- Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to participate in Hollander’s Safe Driving Program
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- English proficiency to include reading, writing and following directions
- Strong mathematical skills

Manufacturing / Production Floor: While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate however there may be areas designated as Hearing Protection required and provided earplugs are mandatory in those areas. Mechanics may also be required to work in confined spaces, roofs and at ceiling height levels.
Not all areas of the plant and warehouse are climate controlled and exposure to heat and/or cold can occur. In addition, when outside work is required, exposure to extreme heat or cold can occur. The Associate is frequently exposed to dust and floating particles used in the manufacturing, storage and inventory of raw materials and finished goods.
