Senior Oil Trader
Job Summary:
Senior Oil Trader will play a prominent role in implementing Pioneer’s marketing strategy for current and growing crude oil position in the US Gulf Coast, Midland, and other major trading hubs.
Job Duties:
- Sell Pioneer’s downstream crude oil position at various loading ports and USGC refining center.
- Negotiating crude sales terms either on spot or term basis to achieve best netback while mitigating risk.
- Develop buyer network to broaden global reach and enhance netbacks. Travel domestic & international as needed to facilitate communications with buyers and other end users.
- Analyze future opportunities for long term growth strategies. Assist in presentations to key management.
- Coordinate with various internal departments (scheduling, risk, hedging, credit, etc.) to communicate activity for sales period and afterwards for proper recording.
- Manage Pioneer’s crude exposure in various oil storage locations
- Internal applicants should meet all eligibility requirements per employee handbook.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, accounting, or engineering. MBA preferred.
- 17+ years of experience with 10+ years in a commercial marketing role with 5+ years in negotiating crude oil cargo sales.
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships within the industry.
- Proven ability to coordinate, organize and lead cross functional and inter-company teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products (excel, word & power point), writing proposals, economic analyses.
- Excellent communication skills are a must as extensive communication with Pioneer management as well as negotiations skill with buyers are vital for success.
- Excellent understanding of global oil markets, major US trading hubs, US crude exports guidelines, cargo crude flow & freight implication, US & International refining demand, oil pricing & valuation, to create profitable P/L.
- Bilingual is preferred for successful candidate.
