Positions in this function facilitate and manage initiatives crossing business teams and operating groups to coordinate projects, define performance, and drive results. Investigate non–standard requests and problems, complete projects on time and within scope, and make presentations to leadership.
Positions in this function lead strategic initiatives among business teams and operating groups, up through the COO level, defining performance and goal execution. Be a subject matter expert on scope definition, risk identification, methodology and resource allocation. Identify and facilitate efficiency projects, determine timeframes, staffing and resource requirements, and lead others to make meaningful process improvements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead projects engaging business teams up through the COO level and external government contacts and vendors
- Facilitate and contribute to the development of program or project scope statements with applicable stakeholders (e.g., program/project charter, Statement of Work, Business Vision Document)
- Lead and coordinate projects that span multi-departmental and cross-functional areas
- Identify project duration, effort, sequence, and dependencies of tasks required to meet applicable project objectives
- Monitor and document project milestones and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standards
- Develop, communicate, and implement programs and project risk/issue management plans and strategies
- Develop and implement contingency and recovery plans when deliverables are missed (e.g., identify critical path, document, and plan for getting back on project schedule)
- Collect and analyze detailed project requirements and develop functional specifications
- Create, monitor, and update project plans for projects, keeping team members informed
- Network with all insurance sales, medical management, and operations departments including Billing, Enrollment and Eligibility, Customer Relations, Member Services, Grievance and Appeals, Claims and HCSA to implement business plan initiatives
- Interface with operations on business system needs

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of project management experience
- 3+ years of experience planning, scheduling, and tracking projects in Microsoft Project and Excel
- 3+ years utilizing the ability to influence without authority
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree
- PMP Certification
- 2+ years developing presentations for higher level audiences
- Managed Care Experience

Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
