Job Summary:
Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting Suppliers, Customers (Internal & External), FAI, QWI and all other duties as assigned. This position is highly customer focused requiring excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage quality assurance responsibilities and ensure compliance across all levels of the organization on major programs from design through production stages. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and reporting on all quality-related activities to assure fulfillment of contract/purchase order requirements. This position requires a strong team player with a background working in integrated product teams and a desire for maintaining a high commitment to both new and sustaining production.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate the Escape Management Process for escapes, identifying robust systemic root cause and follow up on the implementation of corrective/preventive actions
  • Facilitation and coaching of cross-functional Problem Resolution Team for escapes and Clinic Assists for high pain organizational issues
  • Foster and maintain cooperative relationship with all departments, customers, and suppliers, and leverage problem solving interaction across Amphenol enterprise
  • Coordinate, track, and program manage RMA to completion
  • Generate, maintain, and provide quality metrics to Management team and oversee quality improvement programs
  • Drive continuous improvement using data and KPI's
  • Provide technical support and maintain a strong working relationship with the operations team.
  • Investigate and analyze any hardware/assembly concerns causing quality and delivery issues by reviewing procedures, specifications, instructions, processes, and equipment to ensure compliance to applicable drawing, specifications, and standards to resolve Quality and Delivery concerns
  • Build cross-departmental relations to effectively communicate on the status of parts
  • Processing of MRB parts under review

Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Knowledge of RCCA tools and proficiency in driving robust systemic RCCA
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering technical data, such as manufacturing or part drawings, to provide guidance to cross functional teams
  • Strong Experience with managing Quality Management Systems and user of MRP/ERP/ SAP systems used in production control, planning, manufacturing execution, clinic and MRB.
  • Resiliency when dealing with difficult situations while thinking of ways to achieve desired results
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management, customers, and gov't agencies
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS9100, AS9102, & ISO
  • US citizenship required due to government contracts
  • Certified 6 Sigma Blackbelt or equivalent preferred

Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field required (e.g., Engineering, Physical Sciences, Manufacturing, Quality)
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing and/or Engineering with a minimum of 3 years in the aerospace industry
