As a Senior Software Engineer on the Engineering Experience team, you will drive the direction of engineering at Wish. You will build tools and frameworks to empower development teams to work as efficiently as possible. These tools and frameworks will allow teams to develop, build, test, and push code at scale.

As an engineer for SCM & CI, you will own our SCM and CI systems to enable engineers to develop and test day to day. Your goal is to help make engineer’s lives easier while maintaining reliability, scalability, and compliance.

The systems you deploy are highly available and fault tolerant. When issues occur, you are able to quickly debug and triage the problem. You understand the various ways software can fail and are able to understand resource requirements for different services. You are determined to automate as many manual processes as possible to avoid human error. You are able to evaluate multiple software solutions and utilizing cost benefit analysis figure out the best choice.

What you'll be doing:

• Provision, configure and maintain service infrastructure as code
• Design and build advanced automated build, test and storage infrastructure
• Ensure uptime and stability of Wish’s SCM and CI systems
• Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization
• Participate on-call rotation to provide application support, incident management, and troubleshooting
• Improve the user experience of SCM and CI systems at Wish

• B.S. in Computer Science, other related field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of Linux systems administration experience
• 4+ yrs experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or equivalent area.
• Strong understanding of Git and Continuous Integration systems
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (k8s)
• Experience designing and building reliable systems at scale
• Development experience in one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Golang, Ruby, Java, C/C++, etc)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experience with Gitlab
• Experience with a configuration management system, e.g Salt, Chef, Ansible, etc
• Experience with Monitoring, eg Prometheus, Datadog, Graphite, etc

Nice to have:

• Experience with security and compliance (eg SOX, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA)
