Oversee assigned functional operational area, supervision, and administration. Responsible for the environmental, health, and safety of the area, achieving production goals, quality, cost controls, scrap reduction initiatives, and the management and development of the workforce. Responsibilities:
  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program. Always adhere to Company safety rules and regulations and work safely.
  • Manage supervisors and team leads to ensure that tasks, processes, and goals are communicated and completed.
  • Communicate projects, sets timeline completions with the team.
  • Communicate tooling and fixture requirements to the supervisors, team leads and the tooling and fixture engineer.
  • Use Shop Vue reports to ensure equipment uptime and efficiencies.
  • Determine standards, budgets, production goals, and rates, based on company policies, equipment and labor availability, and workloads.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Use computer systems to enter data and run reports, assess inventory, monitor materials, etc.
  • Hold workforce accountable to work instruction, policies, and procedures.
  • Delegates effectively to maximize efficiency and production, and to develop team.
  • Conduct employee training in equipment operations and work and safety procedures.
  • Confer with management or human resources to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
  • Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, and maintenance services.
  • Maintain operations data, such as time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results.
  • Encourage employee communication and endorse an open-door policy.
  • Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency.
  • May be required to work any shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES
Directly supervise supervisors and team leads within assigned area, directly and indirectly supervises production and maintenance personnel. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university preferred.
  • Three (3) years of manufacturing experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body include climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, standing, stooping, and handling tools and materials. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.

Working Conditions
  • Physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body include climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing, walking, standing, stooping, and handling tools and materials.
  • The work environment is varied from a typical office setting to a plant environment that may be hot, cold, dusty, and noisy. It is a requirement to be in and out of the plant on a regular basis. As necessary, must wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
