ERM is seeking a Senior Transmission Routing and Siting Project Manager to play a key role in growing our growing power sector business in the Mid-Atlantic U.S. Region. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success leading routing, siting and permitting tasks on capital development projects, overseeing staff in a project setting, assessing environmental conditions and impacts, plus strong technical writing and communication skills. Experience with transmission line routing/siting and permitting in Virginia is highly desired. The desired candidate optimally will be located in the Mid-Atlantic U.S. Region, but other locations will be considered.
As a senior project manager, you will contribute your leadership, client relationship, and technical consulting skills to support the growth of ERM’s business and client base in the Mid-Atlantic Area, while networking with ERM's global impact assessment team and technical experts to share best practices across the industry. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Direct routing and siting studies, analyses and report development for electric transmission projects. Manage and provide technical expertise on capital projects for a variety of clients with complex technical/regulatory issues.
  • Oversee multiple projects within client’s scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff.
  • Assist with the preparation of expert witness testimony for evidentiary hearings.
  • Participate in agency meetings, public open house events.
  • Work with other ERM resources to deepen relationships with ERM key clients and establish new client relationships that result in significant net revenue growth.
  • Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources or related discipline; or equivalency of 2 years' experience per year of education.
  • Transmission line routing and siting experience is required.
  • 6+ years consulting or industry experience working with power clients on complex projects under a variety of state, federal regulatory frameworks (VA/Mid-Atlantic U.S. preferred).
  • Demonstrated excellence managing environmental planning, siting and permitting projects.
  • Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and “people” skills.
  • High degree of technical competence and broad knowledge of transmission line siting and construction best practices, with a solid grasp of the key impact assessment and management issues (e.g., wetlands, protected species, and visual impact assessment).
  • Well-developed teambuilding and influencing skills; unquestioned integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address client and business needs and challenges.

For the Senior Transmission Routing and Siting Project Manager position we anticipate the annual base pay of $75,000 – $108,000. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
