    EdAdvance is one of Connecticut's six Regional Educational Service Centers (RESCs). Our mission as the RESC in western Connecticut to is to promote the success of area school districts and their communities. EdAdvance is also a partner in the RESC Alliance and works collaboratively with the other RESC groups to support state-wide initiatives. In addition, EdAdvance operates five specialized school programs for students who are requiring educational placement outside of their district.

    Torrington High School, may relocate to EdAdvance Regional Education Center, 215 Hogan Drive, Torrington
    $32.00-$36.00/hr
    Position is open until filled / Anticipated start date is August 1, 2023

    Job Description:
    EdAdvance Adult & Continuing Education is seeking an individual to coordinate and supervise Adult Education programs at Torrington High School .
    The Site Coordinator works under the supervision of the Director in the EdAdvance Adult & Continuing Education Program in the Division of School Services.

    Major Responsibilities:
    Conduct monthly staff meetings at the site to communicate pertinent site and program information
    Supervise mandated and enrichment staff and site support staff such as the door security guard.
    Coordinate with host district custodial staff and district facilities as needed to assure access to instructional space.
    Attend quarterly meetings at EdAdvance with Central Office Staff and other Site Coordinators
    Request instructional and office supplies needed for program operation
    Create a room use schedule for mandated and enrichment classes in the building
    Organize and supervise walk-in registration for mandated students.
    Administer pre- and post-tests to mandated students as directed by the Program Facilitator and Director
    Maintain certification for CASAS e-testing.
    Monitor student attendance levels and report significant changes to the Director.
    Distribute EdAdvance program information in the service area (brochures, flyers, yard signs, etc.)
    Make locally based decisions about site operation including closing early for inclement weather or contacting emergency services if needed.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
    • Ability to develop effective relationships
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    Qualifications/Requirements:
    • Sensitivity to the needs of adult learners.
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Focus on quality customer delivery of services

    • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
