Job Summary

Service is the foundation of everything we stand for at Vail Resorts and our Snowmakers are no exception to creating this experience of a lifetime. Responsible for overseeing the manufactured snow production, Assistant Managers are organized leaders working behind the scenes to ensure high-quality snowmaking operations.

Job Specifications

• Starting Wage: $25.00 - $33.00/hour
• Shift & Schedule Availability: Full-Time
• Skill Level: Advanced
• Other Specifics: Snowmakers operate at high elevations on the mountain in varied terrain and all-weather conditions. Candidates must be able to navigate mountain conditions with various means of transportation including hiking, skis, snowboards, and various other vehicles.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily snowmaking operations such as hiring, scheduling, training, inventory, payroll, budget management and seasonal projects
• Develop, review, and maintain snowmaking operation design plans and systems
• Review and document employee performance and behavior to provide meaningful feedback and direction, providing recognition or corrective action if necessary
• Maintain the safety and appearance facilities and equipment, performing routine inspections
• Maintain knowledge of and adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
• Coordinate with other departments and third-party organizations throughout the course of work
• Participate in leadership forums providing feedback and input on snowmaking operations, training, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent; some college or technical training preferred
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid driver’s license required
• 3-5 years supervisory experience required; snowmaking experience preferred
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs

The expected pay range is $22.50 - $38.24/hour. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
