The Costco team is looking for a dedicated and highly skilled Software Developer to join its ECommerce Sterling Order Management team. The Software Developer will perform development work across the IBM Sterling Order Management capabilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage the completion of projects that involve databases, backend services, and UI development. This position will require an individual to design, build, enhance, and implement solutions in a fast paced, Agile environment participating in scrum ceremonies and working closely with a highly motivated team.

ROLE

  • Performs development, optimization, and automation activities to support the implementation of the Sterling OMS.
  • Designs and implements business workflows to ensure proper application mapping/flow.
  • Leads the design sessions and code reviews of extensions and customizations of the Sterling development framework.
  • Develops Java based extensions of Sterling OMS, Java/EE, and Middleware technologies.
  • Creates and executes unit tests which validate the code changes made to support the implementation of a user story.
  • Supports a wide range of technology projects using Sterling OMS, including configurations, software development, installation of patches and upgrades, etc.
  • Collaborates with Systems Architects and Product Managers to extend the capabilities of the Sterling OMS platform.
  • Partners with other technical teams (middleware, database, infrastructure, etc.) on documentation and mappings to ensure the adherence to Costco’s architecture guidelines and standards.
  • Conducts peer code reviews for the software changes made by other engineers within a team.
  • Provides technical expertise in establishing processes and procedures to ensure standards are followed.
  • Participates and supports in the solution testing and deployment.
  • Develops and documents standard operating procedures, best practices, and technical documentation in a technical repository.
  • Participates in scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospective, showcases/demos, stand-ups, backlog refinement, etc.).
  • Provides 24/7 on-call application support for the Sterling OMS and interfacing applications.

REQUIRED

  • 4+ years’ of experience designing and implementing Sterling OMS or similar solutions into existing environments.
  • Experience in Java/EE, specifically in developing Java based extensions of Sterling OMS or similar applications.
  • Configuration/Administrator level knowledge using Sterling Order Management components, API's, related interfaces, and configuration.
  • Ability to collaborate with other technical experts and develop solution and functional design documents to support development of final solutions.
  • Proven ability to partner with quality assurance teams to develop and execute automated testing scenarios to support end-user and performance-based testing.
  • Experience with DB2 and Middleware technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to partner with stakeholders inside and outside of IT, as well as suppliers and other external entities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, is a self-starter with strong initiative, and ability to manage/execute workload to deliver high quality results.
  • Proven ability to provide project estimates and lead technical teams to consistently meet commitments.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and produce consistent results with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to effectively mentor team members on design, data mapping, programming, and testing techniques.
  • Fosters a strong team dynamic.
  • Scheduling flexibility to meets the needs of the business, including periodic off-hours, such as weekends and holidays.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, problem-solving, decision making, troubleshooting, and resolution skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Recommended

  • Familiarity with WebSphere Commerce.
  • Experience with JMS messaging services.
  • Additional experience with Sterling WebCallCenter, Sterling WebStore, and Sterling RCP preferred.

Pay Ranges:

Level 1 - $85,000 - $110,000

Level 2 - $105,000 - $135,000,

Level 3 - $125,000 - $160,000

Level 4 - $150,000 - $180,000
