Areas of Responsibility
As a Software Engineer - Web Developer (Full Stack) you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Communicate with product experts, user interface (UI) designers, and engineers to fully understand business requirements
  • Break down business requirements into clear and actionable tasks
  • Turn business requirements into clean, testable, and maintainable code
  • Collaborate with other engineers to implement, test, and deliver robust software
  • Research new technologies, methodologies, and practices to participate in discussions about feasibility and need
  • Follow established design and development documentation and controls to ensure quality products and services
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members, as necessary
  • Lead projects and guide team members to achieve set goals
  • Full stack includes Java, Spring, C#, .NET, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Vue.js, React, Azure, and Docker

Position Requirements: This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • At least three years of full-time software engineering experience in object-oriented programming (OOP) languages, such as Java, C, C++, and C#
  • At least three years’ experience designing and implementing back-end services in a current framework, such as Spring, Express, and Django
  • At least three years’ experience with a client-side JavaScript framework, such as Vue, Angular, and React
  • Strong experience with application containerization using Docker
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment, such as Azure, AWS, and GCP
  • Experience with the design and maintenance of relational databases
  • Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) testing
  • Experience with microservice architecture
  • Comfortable in a UNIX shell environment
  • Comfortable with Git

Data Analysis
You will need to be skilled in collecting and analyzing data related to the manufacturing process and be able to use this data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

You will be responsible for identifying and resolving issues that arise. This will include taking action to solve the problem by generating ideas for the solution, finding out the reasons behind the problem, and implementing the solution.

Performance objectives
Within your first 6 months, you will be responsible for learning about our company, contributing to various projects and leading project management initiatives.
During your first 30 days, you will:

  • Learn about Applied’s mission and vision and take part in a variety of Applied Learning foundational courses.
  • Discuss your goals and expectations with your team leader(s) and read and review all relevant team resources and materials.
  • Immerse yourself in team meetings and discussions.

Within 60 days, you will:

  • Exhibit a strong technical understanding of the product line(s) and/or projects
  • Support team meetings and agendas.
  • Take on one or more projects that require low to moderate guidance.

Within 90 days to 1 year, you will:

  • Develop interpersonal connections and relationships with others to effectively accomplish project objectives and deliverables.
  • Lead moderate to complex projects with minimal guidance or direction.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Applied’s Quality Management System and effectively troubleshoot challenges or obstacles that may affect project timelines.
  • Handle a variety of projects on your own.

Benefits: The base compensation range for this role is $80000 - $140000 / year for the position in California. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries in California based on the date of this job posting.
