Job Summary

Provides compensation support to compensation staff and management. Organizes, gathers approvals and submits to payroll all sign-on and spot bonuses. Responsible for set-up and maintenance of various forms of data, including compensation related Human Resource Information System (HRIS) tables. Analyzes, recommends, develops and generates complex queries and reports from HRIS and other sources. Provides support for salary survey completion, as well as performs basic analysis under the direction and guidance of compensation director. #LI-WK1

Key Responsibilities

  • Receives and reviews bonus requests, including sign-on bonuses. Obtains appropriate approvals. Coordinates payment with Payroll. Updates and reconciles the Bonus Log monthly.
  • Reviews and approves job and pay changes, including items submitted via TeamLink, correction form, or Blueprint recruiting.
  • Supports the annual pay planning process including data analysis and system support for the annual incentive plan (AIP) bonus and annual merit processes. Partners with compensation team members leading the merit and bonus activities.
  • Supports Quickbase system used for annual merit and AIP cycles. Supports security maintenance and dashboard functionality. Responsible for annual pay planning calendar and internal communications for AIP and merit process.
  • Provides support for market salary survey completion. Under close guidance of compensation director, retrieves data, completes survey questionnaires, and corresponds with survey vendors.
  • Prepares special market analysis as requested. Retrieves information from salary surveys and enters into spreadsheets. Reviews job documentation and compares to survey jobs. Present matches to compensation director, along with related information, and performs further analysis as needed.
  • Fulfills compensation-related ad hoc data requests in a timely and accurate manner. Accesses data by generating new or existing HRIS queries, researching HRIS or other data sources.
  • Generates monthly and quarterly reports from HRIS to assist in compensation analysis.
  • Maintains compensation-related tables in HRIS as directed.
  • Creates formal presentations for management as directed.
  • Manages Compensation Resource Information on internal company SharePoint site.
  • Coordinates additions and changes to online Job Summary Manual and to job profiles in Blueprint Recruiting.
  • Makes recommendations for improving various compensation processes and strives to ensure accuracy and confidentiality of compensation activity. Assists in ensuring adherence to company policies and legal compliance.
  • Maintains various files such as sign-on bonuses, salary surveys, special analyses, special programs, and other related items.

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or Accounting preferred. Compensation or HR experience preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Human Resource Information System
  • Basic knowledge of Company compensation programs
  • Basic knowledge of Base Pay fundamentals, including job documentation and evaluation
  • Basic knowledge of employment law and legal compliance regulations
  • Basic knowledge of engineering industry-type jobs
  • Basic knowledge of electronic file storage system
  • Intermediate Human Relations Skills (Written, Verbal, Client Service)
  • Basic problem solving skills (Identify, analyze, research, evaluate, resolve)
  • Multi-tasking ability (Prioritize, organize, schedule work)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel
  • Basic Microsoft Word
