The Role

Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategy & Project Management, the Senior Manager, Business Operations Strategy is part of the Astellas Gene Therapies (AGT) Strategy & Project Management team that helps Astellas achieve leadership in the research and discovery of genetic medicines. This role will represent a unified interface for the critical internal and external stakeholders for AGT Research & Technical Operations, facilitating cross-functional strategic and operational planning as well as communications across AGT and corporate divisions. Specifically, the incumbent will lead divisional initiatives and lead the planning and executing of key strategic and governance events on behalf of AGT Research & Technical Operations.

Responsibilities

    Provide thought leadership and project management expertise for strategic initiatives and events led by SVP, AGT RTO, and Sr Director, AGT RTO SPM

    Provide project management expertise on behalf of AGT RTO including generation and monitoring of annual divisional timelines, alignment and monitoring of divisional and cross functional goals; and leading RTO participation in quarterly program reviews as well as monthly Research Review Committees

    Facilitate key managerial reporting processes including assisting with the preparation of monthly report and quarterly review materials as required

    Serve as key contact with Astellas communication team for the communication of key divisional and corporate updates and strategic decisions

    Develop and maintain a network of stakeholders between the COE and Astellas to assist in the accomplishment organizational goals, and provide a unified interface for the COE and Corporate functions.

    As a member of AGT RTO SPM, champion overall organizational ambitions for Astellas Gene Therapies and contribute to organizational discussions

Required Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree

    MBA and/or PhD a strong plus.

    5+ years relevant work experience with at least 2 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry

    Passion and interest in the development of new technologies, and a focus on improving the lives of patients with serious genetic conditions

    Outstanding project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and organizational skills

    Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills; and appreciates the importance of clear oral and written communication in being effective

    Ability to understand the needs and challenges of distinct functions (clinical development, research, commercial, corporate) and deliver workable solutions

    Experience and managing cross-functional initiatives; Outstanding influencing skills up, down and cross the organization including senior management, comfortable operating with incomplete information

    Ability to present highly complex issues, deliver high-level presentations and facilitate effective discussions with senior management to drive decision-making

    Track record of delivering in a fast-paced, innovative, dynamic environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, and bringing a learner’s mindset to daily activities

Preferred Qualifications

    An advanced degree in related field

Salary Range : $129,800-173,000 (NOTE: Final salary could be more or less, based on experience)
