General Position Description

ServiceNow Applications Developer shall perform feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management. They will assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integrations, and testing tools. Troubleshooting, remediating, and optimizing any and all SharePoint based issues, while also working with engineering requirements and providing strategic recommendations to management. The ideal candidate will possess an inherent interest in learning the latest technology and have the ability and motivation to learn quickly while solving engineering problems collaboratively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Delivery:

  • Designs, develops, enhances, debugs, and implements software.
  • Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications.
  • Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements.
  • Designs and develops new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
  • Evaluates effectiveness.
  • Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
  • Consults with project teams and end-users to identify application requirements.
  • Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Acts as team leader on projects. Instructs, assigns, directs, and checks the work of others on the development team.
  • Participates in development of software user manuals and technical reports.
  • Ability to provide solutioning options and simultaneously adhering to Organizational policies (i.e., page design, structure, naming convention).
  • Focused, collaborative mindset to include all stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of an engineering project.
  • Expertise in transforming client's vision of SharePoint request into a feasible solution.
  • Deft ability to facilitate deeper technical sessions while clearly articulating highly technical discussions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a continuous process improvement culture.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to understand and effectively communicate technical concepts in a compelling, persuasive manner to non-technical staff.
  • Excellent ability to interact skillfully and diplomatically with numerous counterparts including contract stakeholders, government representatives and transportation officials.
  • Capable of working under tight deadlines and on several projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent time and resource management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and function effectively as a member of a team and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical/business solutions to personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to demonstrate extremely strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and work ethic.
  • Ability to work odd hours outside of standard schedule as needed, e.g. weekends or after normal work hours.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated outstanding level of professionalism in providing project review support, including ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Collaborative, solution-focused mindset.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong Agile-minded perspective on iterative, continual delivery and the ability to decompose a large, complex engineering effort into smaller, executable pieces.
  • Collaborative mindset to interface with greater group of stakeholders.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience using ServiceNow.
  • 8+ years of experience with relational database (i.e. SQL Server).
  • 5+ years of experience consulting clients on potential ServiceNow (or SharePoint Solutions), client presentations, translating business requirements into technical requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience with System testing and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Public Trust Clearance.
  • Experience leading a full-cycle migration of production SharePoint environment to newer version (i.e. SharePoint 2013 to 2016) preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified System Engineer (SharePoint 2013 or newer) preferred.
