Arconic Lancaster has been a leader in the aluminum manufacturing industry and a strong community partner for over 75 years. We also produce brazing sheet used by auto manufacturers to make evaporator and condenser components. Over 400 customers use our product for a variety of consumer goods.

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Software Engineer:

• Maintain and develop process control operating systems from a software and hardware perspective
• Perform system upgrades to keep current with hardware and software that is still supported by the manufacturer or developer
• Perform patching/security updates as needed and required by Corporate Security in the area of responsibility
• Perform application design changes to HMI and SCADA products as needed to provide fast, high quality, and cost-effective software solutions
• Solve quality problems associated with process control systems and develop software to diagnose quality problems

Qualifications - External

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering Information Systems, or related fields from an accredited institution
• Demonstrated computer skills, including a proficient knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Access, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Word)
• 3 years full-stack experience or equivalent project work developed using programming languages such as C#, C++, VBA, SQL, or similar
• 3 years experience maintaining a database system using any of the following platforms – MSAccess, SQL Lite, Microsoft SQL Server, or Postgre SQL
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• A strong will to learn new technologies to perform all job requirements
• The ability to act independently and take responsibility for the projects in their area
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6+ years programming experience in the following languages (C#, C++, VBA, or SQL)
• 6+ years experience maintaining a database system using any of the following platforms – MSAccess, SQL Lite, Microsoft SQL Server, or Postgre SQL
• 6+ years experience working knowledge of programming and interface techniques with various manufacturing shop floor control systems (e.g., programmable controllers (PLC’s), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems)
• 1 – 3 years mentoring or supervision experience in a Software Development environment
• A proficient knowledge of UNIX, LINUX, Windows Operating Systems
• A proficient knowledge of Project Management skills
• 6+ years previous experience in a manufacturing environment
