Job Summary
This Staff Nurse – Electrophysiology Team will be responsible for: • Providing continuity of care across the inpatient and outpatient settings for children and adults with arrhythmias and cardiac rhythm devices [i.e. pacemakers, defibrillators (ICDs), implanted loop recorders (ILRs)], in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team. • Performing the role of scrub nurse during the implantation or revision of cardiac rhythm devices in the Electrophysiology Catheterization Laboratory. • Learning the management of cardiac rhythm devices, including the documentation and interpretation of device reports/transmissions. • Telephone and patient portal triage focused on symptom assessment and management. • Patient and family education, and care coordination in the inpatient and outpatient settings. • Working Monday – Friday, four 10-hour shifts. • Staff member must be able to work in Boston as well as all satellites clinics (Waltham, Peabody, Lexington, Weymouth, Brockton, Milford, Dartmouth). To qualify, you must have: • BSN degree and MA RN License. • 2-3 years cardiac nursing experience required. • 2-3 years pediatric nursing experience preferred. • PALS and ACLS certification within one year of hire into the role. • Meticulous attention to detail in order to assist in coordination of procedures and admissions. • Commitment, motivation and self-direction with exemplary verbal and written communications. • Strong interest in the ambulatory, procedural, and inpatient management of patients with heart rhythm disorders
