Responsibilities
What You'll Do
- Process instruments, equipment and supplies for sterilization according to policies and procedures
- Appropriately decontaminate, assemble and pack instruments for sterilization
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability to operate an autocalve sterilzation steam
- Check non-disposable instrument trays, packs for contamination, tears, holes and moisture
- Maintain a record of activities within the sterile processsing department
- Participate in the development and implementation of a comprehensive performance improvement plan
- Demonstrate the ability to follow established Infection Control Policies and Procedures to prevent the spread of disease and infection
- Assist with other duties for smooth operationg of the department and contribute to a positive patient outcome
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Graduate of Operating Room School of Technology and/or certification in OR Technology preferred
- Must be proficient in sterile processing techniques to instruments, supplies and equipment
- Must possess good manual dexterity, good hearing and eyesight to hand instruments to physicians
- Knowledge in the principles of sterile processing and previsous sterile processing experience is a must
