Job Description

The Real-time Test Systems Software team (RTSS) is looking for an individual to join the team who has an EE/ME/AE degree with software experience to work integrating structural devices collecting data from jet engines during testing.

Structural software engineer will be required to understand how devices which take charge, strain, and voltage inputs and write code to communicate with these devices. The person should also be very familiar with timing protocols (PTP, NTP, IRIG), and devices and how to work with data from disparate devices. Typically the individual performing this work will be analyzing data, writing software to analyze data, support data collection devices, work directly with engines on the test stand to include participating in live turbine engine testing. Data collected will be shown in real time to the engineering community

and the candidate will need to work with them to understand and manipulate the data in order to meet military and commercial program requirements.

The ideal applicant will have awareness of how to analyze structural data such as frequency content, spectral analysis, and be familiar with poly-phase resampling and able to communicate this data to the software and engineering groups effectively.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 5 years of experience or an advanced degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
  • Must be a US citizen due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with C/C++/Object Oriented
  • Structural Data recording and analysis experience
  • Familiarity with QT development environment and IIR filters is highly preferred
  • Ability to utilize Linux and Windows platforms
  • Familiarity with Spectral Signal processing-Fourier transforms, spectral smoothing windows, digital FIR
  • Familiarity with signal conditioning (strain gage, charge, IEPE) a plus.
