Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health

Job Summary


The Student Assistant will support the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health (JPHCOPH) on the Statesboro Campus as an Office Assistant beginning Summer 2023.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general administative support to the admissions coordinators, other staff, administrators, and students within JPHCOPH
  • Utilizes a multiline phone system to answer and transfer telephone calls
  • Checks voicemail, takes messages, and sends to the person requested
  • Handles student inquiries as they arise by either phone or JPHCOPH admissions email
  • Greets individuals as they enter the building/suite and assists when necessary
  • Completes general administrative tasks such as filing, copying, and scanning documents, and data entry
  • Delivers mail and/or packages
  • Checks the copy machine(s) for paper and fills when necessary
  • Checks and empties shredder machine(s)

Shift Specifics

  • Up to 25 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Monday - Friday

Required Qualifications


Educational Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Qualifications


Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with confidential data
  • Experience with Microsoft Access

Proposed Salary


$9.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
