Description:
Under limited supervision delivers services to substance abuse clients including client assessments, monitoring client attendance at meetings and classes, individual and group counseling, etc.
How will I contribute
- Must maintain SUD Counselor registration/certification in good standing, as required by State regulation
- Maintain caseload in medication assisted therapies program, including but not limited to, Methadone Maintenance, 21 Day Medically Supervised Withdrawal, 180-day Medically Supervised Withdrawal, and Suboxone programs.
- Conduct one on one, individual counseling sessions
- Responsible for development of timely assessments and treatment planning
a) Develop initial needs assessment and initial treatment plan w/in 28 days of admission
b) Update treatment plan whenever necessary, or at 3 months from date of admission. - Complete discharge summary w/in 30 days of discharge
- Complete progress note on each counseling session immediately following session
- Monitor quarterly step requests on clients for submission in a timely manner
- Arrange courtesy dose requests as needed
- Submit exception waivers to Medical Director for electronic submission to State and/or Federal agencies for approval
- Suggest and participate in changes in protocol to SUD Services Director and Program Manager, as needed
- Maintain expert knowledge and understanding of Title 9 and Title 22 as it pertains to medication assisted therapies/narcotic treatment programs
- Comply, at all times, with requirements of Confidentiality Federal Regulations, Title 42
- Review assigned case files for quality assurance
- Complete annual reviews and CalOMS Annual Updates forms as required
- Submit all treatment plans, quarterly step requests/justifications to Clinical Supervisor for review and required signature.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and staff trainings
- Collect u/a specimens, as needed
- Seek guidance with difficult cases by case study with Clinical Supervisor and/or treatment team
- Work closely with other clinical staff, medical staff, and administrative staff
- Must reach and maintain at least a 50% productivity rate at all times
- Fill in for conducting PC1000 classes as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
What I bring
- Experience working in SUD setting, including conducting group sessions
- Associate Degree or equivalent 60 college semester units with emphasis in behavioral health or social sciences
- Must be registered or certified by a DHCS approved certifying organization
- Valid and current Certification or Registration with State approved certifying organization to provide SUD services
- Provide MAT services to clients. This includes, but not limited to, providing direct treatment, educational classes, case management, and diagnosis/assessment to plan treatment for all clients
- Assist in the designing, review, and implementation of program development, which may include substance use disorders, co-occurring and tri-occurring diagnosis
- Two years related experience, three years continued abstinence if there is a history of SUD
