Are you a school bus driver with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) looking for work over the summer? Do you want to transport children with other staff present so all you have to do is DRIVE? Boys & Girls Club is looking for Bus Drivers to transport our members during summer camp, June 5 through July 28th!

Boys & Girls Club of Hernando County (BGCHC) provides fun, engaging, and educational before-and-after school programming within Hernando County’s public schools. We also provide early childhood education at seven preschool locations. Our mission is to enable children, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

As a Bus Driver (CDL) with Boys & Girls Club of Hernando County, you clock in for the day at our Westside Unit located in Spring Hill, 34606. You conduct a pre-trip inspection of your bus. If you're driving for Westside's Summer Camp, you'll load members on the bus right there. If you're driving for Brooksville Elementary's Summer Camp, you'll drive the bus there to pick up your members. A director and staff members are always present on the bus with you so you can focus strictly on driving.

The best part - all of our trips are local! Our members go skating at The Locomo, go bowling at Strike City, catch a movie at Spring Hill 8, and enjoy the pool at New Port Richey's Recreation & Aquatic Center. While the kids are having fun, you can sit back and relax or lend a helping hand; the choice is yours.

At the end of the day, you return the bus to Westside, sometimes stopping to fuel up the bus. You also do whatever it takes to maintain the exterior and interior cleanliness of the bus. You must always adhere to rules and regulations set forth by Boys & Girls Club of Hernando County, Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) and Early Learning Coalition (ELC) and complete required reporting.

Pay

• The pay rate is $16.00/hour.

Schedule

• Schedules are based on field trips
• Wednesday - Friday, occasional Tuesdays
• Mostly 7:30am-2:00pm, but varies by trip

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger, Air Brake and School Bus endorsements
• Medical Examination Report for Commercial Driver Fitness Determination from within the past year; required to update annually
• Current CPR & First Aid certification or ability to complete within 90 days of employment
• Thorough knowledge of bus operation, safety and safety equipment
