**This position requires the successful candidate to pass a background investigation to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. In order to obtain this, the successful candidate will have to demonstrate that they have maintained full time residence in the United States for the past three (3) consecutive years.

SUMMARY

CSS-Wx is the single provider of weather data, products, and imagery within the National Airspace System (NAS), using standards-based weather dissemination via System Wide Information Management (SWIM). CSS-Wx makes available both NOAA and FAA NWP weather products for integration into air traffic decision support tools, improving the quality of traffic management decisions and reducing controller workload during severe weather. Products are provided via a set of common Web Services for weather, using internationally recognized data access and data format standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Provide 2nd level engineering support for the CSS-Wx.
• Support system development/testing/integration/deployment activities for the CSS-Wx system.
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware and software upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
• Attend system design reviews; technical interchange meetings; any other meetings as requested to support program and team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required:

• Able to support applications configuration (Linux)
• Able to support operating system configurations (Linux)
• Able to support system testing and deployment planning
• Detail oriented in documentation and motivated in learning
• Work with multiple teams and excellent communication
• Experience with JIRA
• Ability to develop test documentation, (test plan, test procedures, test reports).

Preferred:

• Experience with Red Hat Linux (RHEL) 7, 8, 9 Beta and or Windows server 2019/2022
• Experience with database configuration
• Experience Ansible or shell or powershell
• Knowledge with network configuration
• Knowledge with virtual machine environment
• Experience with Weather Information Services (e.g., Web Coverage Service (WCS), Web Feature Service (WFS), and Web Map Service (WMS)).

DEGREE and EXPERIENCE

The System Test Engineer requires either a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in an engineering discipline OR a Master of Science in Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in an engineering discipline.

JOB LOCATION

The System Test Engineer will work in a Hybrid Work Environment, splitting time between remote work (3-4 days per week) and the William J. Hughes Technical Center (1-2 days per week) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

Pay: $68,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
