Job Summary:

We are currently hiring an experienced Systems Automation Engineer within the Hardware Team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and documenting the automation systems that power our radar monitoring and safety systems and start-up/shutdown routines.

The Systems Automation Engineer will report to the Director of Hardware within the Engineering organization.

The role requires working on a fast-paced development program. The candidate must be solution oriented, positive, and proactive, and someone who relentlessly finds ways to succeed and improve.

This position could be (either hybrid or on-site), with the preference for the candidate to be located in either SF/Bay area, Dallas, or Boston area. Periodic travel to these company sites and project areas is also expected.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement automation systems for radar monitoring and safety systems.

  • Develop PLC programs and human-machine interface using industry-standard programming environments and hardware.

  • Work closely with electrical engineers to integrate PLCs and automation systems into radar systems.

  • Conduct system-level testing to validate and troubleshoot issues as needed.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure high-quality integration.

  • Develop automation scripts and software tools to facilitate efficient testing and troubleshooting of radar system automation systems.

  • Author technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in designing and testing complex automation systems, preferably in the radar or aerospace industries.

  • Proficiency in PLC programming environments such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider Electric.

  • Experience in prototyping and testing electronic systems using industry-standard hardware and software tools.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to automation systems.

  • Proficiency with field operations and debugging of complex systems.

  • Comfortable with hardware and software elements of machine design and operation.
