Teacher Job at Village Green Charter School
MLL Certified teacher needed to provide services to 16-20 MLL students in grades 9-12. Village Green Virtual uses the Collaborative Model, therefore there is an expectation for strong collaboration with classroom content area teachers. There will be flexibility in scheduling hours worked. Specific Duties: 1.Meet with each teacher team at least once per week to share strategies and methods in how to provide scaffolded instruction in all content areas.
2.Collaborate with each teacher team to create a rich language environment where all students can learn academic English. There should be a strong focus on academic vocabulary and posting Language Objectives.3.Meet with students in small groups to provide target instruction in identified areas of growth in speaking, reading, writing, and listening.4.Administer the ACCESS assessment during the month of January to all MLL students.5.Participate in the EL consortium including monthly meetings and collaboration of best practices.6.Notify the MLL Administrator when there are concerns regarding individual students progress, or when there are teachers who are struggling to provide effective content instruction to those learning English. 7.Attend a weekly check in meeting with the MLL Administrator to ensure compliance and integrity of the program. Schedule and collaboration materials will be shared during these meetings.
