Your Job

Our Georgia Pacific facility in Fordyce, AR is looking for a Team Leader. The incumbents will lead a department’s production team of up to 16 employees to work injury-free/incident free in a continuous manufacturing environment consistent with (PBM)® philosophy and framework. The position will work a 12-hour rotating shift.


General Tasks:

Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement the appropriate mitigating strategies based on the risk involved; monitor the quality of work and provide direction to team members to maximize efficiency; assist with troubleshooting and solving production issues; provide safety training to team members; focus on long range planning to drive continuous improvement; and data entry and completing/generating reports; create production schedules for assigned areas as required.

Contacts/interfaces:

Internal (site): Interacts with key operations personnel such as the Plant Manager, Production Manager, Superintendents (Operations and Maintenance), Human Resources Manager, Safety Manager, Environmental Manager, Quality Manager, maintenance personnel and employees at all levels of the site organization.

What You Will Do

  • Create continuous improvement by utilizing PBM® philosophy and production ownership of equipment and processes
  • Facilitating team development and growth, and reviewing/managing performance
  • Building employee commitment and ownership, and holding employees accountable
  • Identifying contributions and missed opportunities
  • Supervise/coordinate production efforts that strive toward operations excellence capabilities (EHS, compliance, reliability, production, yield, costs, quality, and capital projects)

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience in employee performance management
